Hello,

Server 'pyro' was down for 6 hours from 00:04AM EST to 06:02AM EST due to a damaged RAM stick. The datacenter tech handling the issue was apparently inexperienced and our server node had some issues during boot.

Ok, the decision I have made is due to phisers we will just make the no post plan not available but all p2h plans will still be up for reg.

Reasons why

1. Admins will be on vacation and will not be able to check out new accounts
2. Phishers have tended to magically join when the admins were away
3. To prevent reason 2 from happening... This happened once and caused a couple of hours worth of downtime too all client accounts but NiftyHost remained up
   

I will be on vacation starting Wednesday July 28th. Zack will also be away during this time. No need to worry though on my vacation, I will always have a computer within 30 feet of where i am and a cell phone or ipod that can take care of any needs the server has, i will also be on and off here too

We will begin running a cleanup of all accounts on the server beginning Sunday July 25th. Please make sure you have some files on your account so we know not to terminate your account. This is being done for regular maintenance of server.

Here soon there will be a brand new plan. This plan will be free and will not require you to post on this forum. There will be a little less features on this plan but it is great for anyone who is beginning webhosting experience and some new features might come up with some upcoming plans.

Well, NiftyHost has come a long way since its opening in late January of this year. Servers have been changed, staffs have been swapped, skiddies have DoS'd, and communities have grown. Throughout most of this time, we have been using a free web design template. It has served us well, but, as NiftyHost increases in size, we need to look more professional to the outside world and a free template just doesn't do that for us.

So we're having a contest to see who can design the new face of NiftyHost. Design a template the way you think a respectable host should look and upload it somewhere. PM me a link. We'll put it up here in this post, and after a while a "democratic" vote will be held to determine the design that replaces our current one.
